Anantapur: YSR Congress President Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday exhorted the electorate to vote for a ‘credible’ leader who can ensure all-round development of the State. Citing the successful manner in which Y S Rajasekhara Reddy steered the State prospects without ever compromising on welfare measures, Jaganmohan Reddy said the pro-people policies were the order of the day. “The earlier Chief Ministers had scant respect for the people and had misplaced priorities. As a true heir of YSR, I will carry out all the poll promises and make you stakeholders in the development process,” he said, while addressing a huge gathering as part of road show at Gooty near here.

He charged that Telugu Desam President N Chandrababu Naidu, who had ‘colluded with Sonia Gandhi to divide Andhra Pradesh’, was promising the moon unmindful of the impracticality of the schemes. “This is probably his last election but I am here to stay,” he said. Though there were Chief Ministers before and after him, only YSR is still remembered even five years after his death only because of the concern he had shown to the poor. “I will carry forward his legacy and fulfill all his aspirations for the people,” Jagan assured the people. Saying that redefining women empowerment economically would be his priority concern, he said that, if voted to power, he would simplify the loan and interest procedure. “Housing will also be given top priority and I will build 50 lakh houses by 2019,” he said. AarogyaSri scheme would be strengthened and each district would have a super specialty hospital that would not look down on the poor for providing quality treatment. It was his categorical assurance.
