TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu to Have Two Deputy Chief Ministers; Kapus, BCs to Get 1 EachPithapuram: TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday announced that if his party is elected to power, he would induct two Deputy Chief Ministers, one from Kapu community and the other from Backward classes. He also promised that he would implement a comprehensive plan for the overall development of Kapus in Seemandhra. Analysts aver that this was a quick move to attract the Kapu votes who constitute a good number of population in the residuary state. The Kapus and the BCs in this part can tilt the fortunes of the candidates and hence TDP wants to ensure that they get majority votes, they say.

According to TDP sources, the party has asked BC leaders like R Krishnaiah to fan out into the areas where BC votes matter and talk to the heads of the community. Krishnaiah who met community leaders in Guntur on Saturday tried to convince them that the TDP would establish an egalitarian society. He will meet BC leaders in Visakhapatnam on Sunday.

The party also asked other leaders like Mothkupally Narsimhulu to meet all the Dalit leaders in Seemandhra and enlist their support. As part of this exercise, Narsimhulu held meetings with SC leaders in Krishna district on Saturday. This exercise has become necessary since there were more Kapu candidates in the race from YSRCP. At the same time, Congress has been solely relying on Kapu leaders and BC politicos to resurrect the party in the residual AP.
