Sabbam quits JSP, withdraws from LS poll fray
Sabbam Hari Quits JSP, Withdraws from Lok Sabha Poll Fray, JSP candidate contesting the Vizag Lok Sabha seat Sabbam Hari on Tuesday announced his resignation from the party and decided to withdraw from the contest.
Visakhapatnam: Jai Samaikyandhra Party (JSP) candidate contesting the Vizag Lok Sabha seat Sabbam Hari on Tuesday announced his resignation from the party and decided to withdraw from the contest. The JSP Yelimanchili and Kanigiri Assembly candidates Bheemunisetti Adibabu and Seshadri Naidu also announced their decision to drop out from the poll fray.
At a hurriedly-convened press meet, Hari said he was pained to note that the Supreme Court had refused to stay the AP bifurcation. The three-judge Bench clearly told the petitioners that it would not interfere with the Centre’s policy, as granting stay would amount to granting the final relief. He pointed out that without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the Bench had posted final hearing to August 20. The State government had stepped up the division process following the Supreme Court’s decision not to grant a stay on the Appointed Day. The very spirit of the JSP movement was diluted with the SC’s verdict, he said.
‘At this juncture, I cannot deceive the public further that the State of Andhra Pradesh would be protected from being bifurcated, as the case was pending with the Apex Court and so decided to withdraw from the election fray by resigning from the JSP’, he said. Hari appealed to the public to understand the situation and to exercise their franchise in favour of any other party, except YSRCP. Later, the MP informed that he was suffering from throat infection following a vigorous campaigning. He had to undergo surgery immediately. Hari hoped that the public would understand his problem. It may be recalled that the JSP has poll tie-up with CPM and CPM candidate for the Vizag Lok Sabha Ch Narasing Rao withdrew in support of Hari and remained in the fray from Gajuwaka Assembly segment. Hari had campaigned in the city and industrial areas along with Rao and CPM Politburo member Sitaram Yechuri. Meanwhile, Adibabu said he was withdrawing to prevent split of votes. He joined TDP in the presence of the party candidate Panchakarla Rameshbabu.
