Hyderabad: A Jubliant TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has decided to take oath as the first chief minister of the residual state of Andhra Pradesh in Seemandhra region. "I have decided to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of residuary AP State at a place in Seemandhra instead of Hyderabad," Naidu told media on Friday.

According to party sources Naidu is said to be opting for Tirupati or somewhere between Vijayawada-Guntur stretch. Party leaders say that Naidu personally prefers Tirupati as it happens to be the abode of Lord Venkateswara and also because it is his home town. The date of oath taking will be decided soon.

Vijayawada, the party leadership feels was being preferred as second option since it is ahead in the race for being the new capital of Andhra Pradesh. Incidentally Krishna district also happens to be the native district of the party founder president N T Rama Rao.

Naidu thanked the people for giving a clear victory to the party and reiterated that he would fulfill all the promises he had made both during his walkathon as well as during the election campaign. He also thanked the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, BJP president Rajnath Singh and Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan for their support to the TDP.
