Uttar Pradesh, which has 80 seats to its name, does not have one Muslim candidate who was victorious. BJP, a party continuously criticized for not being secular, does not have a single Muslim representative among its 282 seats. BJP’s sole Muslim facem Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, lost from the Bhagalpur parliamentary constituency in Bihar.

In the new Lok Sabha, the biggest contingent of Muslim MPs are from West Bengal with 7 members.
