Are you taking any medications? Certain medications may cause photosensitivity – in other words medications may make you more sensitive to UV light. Please check with your doctor about tanning while on any medication to ensure you are able to be exposed to UV light. Please also let one of our staff members know to ensure your tanning times are altered should any sensitivity occur.

Are you currently Pregnant? Please speak with your doctor prior to tanning should you recently become pregnant. Your doctor must approve you to tan prior to using our services. Should your doctor provide confirmation to continue tanning please be mindful of such things as the physical activity of getting in and out of the lie down equipment as well as the heat created while the tanning bed is in use. Please speak with the salon staff to find the best equipment alternative for you during your pregnancy.
Eye Protection is Mandatory: protect your eyes! Simply closing them while you tan is not adequate protection against the effects UV light may have. Damage to your eyes may not be noticed for months or even years. Protecting them when you tan can easily eliminate the possibility of eye damage. The eye protection we offer meets FDA regulations by blocking 99.9% of UVB and 99% of UVA. For these reasons, we insist that you use eye protection every time you tan.
Exposure Schedule: Tan FX Salon staff will develop an exposure schedule for all customers upon their first visit to the salon. Exposure schedules will be determined by skin type and recent tanning history. You will be asked questions as to how your skin tans and when your last tan was. It is important customers follow their specific exposure schedule as set by the salon staff to ensure overexposure does not occur.
