From Bhongir To Everest Summit. Malavath Purna, achieved a feat which will stay intact for decades to come. The 13-year-old who belongs to a family of poor farmers created a world record at a tender age. When she reached the summit after an arduous climb, she had tears of joy in her eyes.
I am in Class X now, so my immediate plan is to study well and achieve high marks in Class X. - Purna

Malavath Purna, achieved a feat which will stay intact for decades to come. The 13-year-old who belongs to a family of poor farmers created a world record at a tender age. When she reached the summit after an arduous climb, she had tears of joy in her eyes.
A joyous Purna reached Hyderabad on Sunday.
Excerpts from the interview:
Q: How did you feel after reaching the summit?
A: It was the proudest moment of my life. I am elated that I made my nation proud.
Q: What difficulties did you face?
A: The climate was very cold. It is not easy to trek when the temperature is -40 to -50 degrees Celsius. It was very difficult. It was a tricky terrain; every step was a dangerous step.
Q: A few sherpas died in an avalanche. What was going through your mind?
A: I was numb and shocked when I saw the bodies. I feared a bit but I remembered my training regimen which helped me to get over it.
Q: After reaching a point there is no oxygen, so how hard was it to scale with oxygen masks?
A: It was a whole new experience. With the oxygen mask it was a little difficult for me to scale the rest of mountain. However, I coped after sometime.
Q: Whom do you attribute your success to?
A: I dedicate my success to my parents and Praveen sir, who helped and motivated us all.
Q: What are your future plans?
A: I am in Class X now, so my immediate plan is to study well and achieve high marks in Class X. In future, I want to become an IPS officer.
