Lal Bazaar Celebrates Bonalu. Lal Bazaar Mahakali temple, having a history of over 100 years, commenced its Ashada Masam Bonalu Jatra on Wednesday. Large number of women devotees, dressed in gorgeous attire, carried Bonam on their heads to please the deity.

Rangam predictions would be held today.

Ravi Kumar, Station House Officer, Trimulgherry, said, “More than 100 police personnel were deployed to oversee the security arrangements under the overall supervision of Manohar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Begumpet division.”

Mahakali temple at Lal Bazaar colourfully decked up for Bonalu

According to history, an agriculturist Gangaiah got a dream that a deity by name Mahankali was placed near the hillocks of Lal Bazaar. He went there the next morning and was surprised to find the Goddess carved out of a stone, near a neem tree. He constructed a temple for the Goddess which gained prominence among the people living nearby.
