Tulasi Vishwanth's Carnatic vocal concert was organised at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) under the Campus Concert Series on Monday at the CV Raman Auditorium.

Tulasi’s concert titled ‘Swara- Madhuri’ kept the audience spellbound. Swara Madhuri started with varnam in Raga Pantuvarali (Aaditalam). This was followed by the melodious rendition of Vatapi Ganapati in Raga Hamsadhwani (Aaditalam) composed by Deekshtar, Thyagraja's compositions- Nidayarada in Raga Vasantha Bhairavi (Roopaka Talam), Bantureeti in Raga Humsanada (Aaditalam), Nagumomu in Raga Abheri (Aaditalam) and Mangalam in Surate Raga (Aaditalam), Durga Devi in Raga Navarasa Kannada (Aaditalam) composed by Muttaya Bhagavatar, Vande Humshapadham in Raga Yamana Kalyani (Misra Chapu) composed by Dayananda Bharati and Tillana in Raga Humsadhwani (Aaditalam) composed by GN Balasubramaniam. The recital captured full attention of the university community as they `were completely immersed in the joy of divine music.

Tulasi was accompanied by NC Anantha Krishna on violin, Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar awardee P Jayabhashkar on Mridangam and PS Mallikarjuna on Ghatam.

Hailing from a music family, Tulasi Viswanath started learning music from a tender age of seven. She had her initial training under Krishna Kumari and Saagi Venkateswara Rao and later under the tutelage of the renowned Guru Annavarappu Ramaswamy, who belongs to the Guru - Shishya parampara of Saint Thyagaraja. Tulasi started giving concerts from the age of 11. Soon she emerged as a much sought after vocal artiste with good Manodharmam and repertoire. She is an empanelled artiste of the ICCR and an ‘A- Grade’ artiste of the All India Radio.
