A two-day orientation programme and course coordinators meet was inaugurated at the National Institute for Mentally Handicapped (NIMH) on Wednesday. This programme is being jointly organised by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), New Delhi, and Helen Keller’s Institute of Research and Rehabilitation for Disabled Children, Secunderabad.

A two-day orientation programme and course coordinators meet was inaugurated at the National Institute for Mentally Handicapped (NIMH) on Wednesday. This programme is being jointly organised by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), New Delhi, and Helen Keller’s Institute of Research and Rehabilitation for Disabled Children, Secunderabad.

TC Shivakumar, director, NIMH, was the chief guest and inaugurated this programme and spoke about various rehabilitation courses and the services provided to the differently-abled.

About 175 delegates from south India are participating in the programme organised by P Ummar Khan, founder and chairman of Helen Keller’s Institute. Suman Kumar, deputy director of RCI, and Jyanthi Narayan, former deputy director, NIMH, were present at the function.

The valedictory function will be held today at the same venue at 4 pm.
