He is the first mimicry artiste to be invited to give international performances in the United States, after veteran mimicry artiste Nerella Venumadhav. In appreciation for his services to the cultural field the Telugu Artistes Federation has nominated Sylvester for Nusetty Ramamohan Rao Award for this year.

Besides being a voice artist, Sylvester is an actor and a director. ‘Prema Samrayam’, a play that he had directed, was noticed by the Andhra Pradesh Government and he was awarded the Nandi award for the play.

“Felicitation is not just honouring with a garland, shawl and one memento, it is a symbol and wisdom of the organisers. It is a beautiful expression to show their love and affection towards the art and the artist,” said Sylvester.

During his career that has spanned five decades, he received many awards from the Telugu Association of North America (TANA); Government of Andhra Pradesh; AP Working Journalists Association; Bharat Aluminium Company Ltd (BALCO), Madhya Pradesh; Sumadhura Kala Niketan, Vijayawada; Yuvakala Vahini, Hyderabad; Telugu Kala Samithi, Hubli; Acharya Nagarjuna University and many more.

Sylvester is popularly known as ‘Silver Star’, a title which was given by AP Working Journalists Association in 1972. After a decade he was given another title ‘Golden Star’, which was announced by Turlapati Kutumbarao at a felicitation function organised by Sumadhura Kala Niketan, Vijayawada.

Sylvester was momentous in gaining an audience for Indian mimicry in many countries like United States of America, Sharjah, Dubai and London. He is a philanthropist and loves to offer help to the needy, and is part of the Rotary International and Telugu Artistes Federation.
