On October 31, Amutavani, Hyderabad, presented a drama ‘Mother Teresa’, based on the life of Mother Teresa. The play spoke about how she sacrificed her life to help orphans and needy people. This drama was well directed by U Balasowri. The technical values were well appreciated by the audience especially lighting and music of Anoop Rubens. Sreeja’s action as Mother Teresa was impressed.

The second and third day dramas presented by Sri Vijayabharathi Natyamandali, Sri Sharada Vijaya Natyamandali, Hyderabad. Both the organisations belong to the famous traditional Surabhi family. Two dramas ‘Balanagamma’ on Saturday and ‘Sri Krishna Leelalu’ on Sunday were presented by organisations.

Surabhi is known for their production values like sets and lighting. Though the stories ‘Balanagamma’ and ‘Sri Krishna Leelalu’ are known to everyone, the audience was thrilled for their techniques while presenting the dramas.

Behind the proscenium curtains, acts and scenes were set up like a deck of cards. Each scene within an act materialised with distinctive painted locales that descended vertically or were flown down onto the stage. Over all, the plays had great production values and were a treat to the eyes.
