It has by now become widely known that Suzuki has been busy developing a Suzuki Gixxer faired version (scroll below for spy pictures). As we reported earlier, the upcoming motorcycle will share in plenty with the Gixxer and it would have the same fuel tank, tail, end-can, alloy rims and brakes as its naked sibling. At front though, it will sport a full-fairing that will feature Suzuki’s trademark shield-like headlamp . It is being said that the upcoming motorcycle will go on sale under the GSX-R moniker and recently, the good chaps at Motoblast have come up with a speculative rendering of the upcoming model.

As per this rendering, the upcoming bike will look much like the larger Suzuki GSX-R 750 and the GSX-R 1000. However, as we’ve been saying, it will be powered by the same 154.9 cc engine that powers the Gixxer streetnaked. Stay tuned to CarBlogIndia for more details on Suzuki Gixxer faired version.

Launch
While there has been no official word from Suzuki Motorcycles India on the introduction of this motorcycle, it is being speculated that the launch of the Suzuki Gixxer faired version would take place in the first half of next year. On its arrival, this bike will become the second such model in its segment, the Yamaha Fazer being the first one. The price of this motorcycle will be slightly more than that of its streetnaked sibling.

Design
In essence, the upcoming Suzuki motorcycle is nothing but a Gixxer + a full fairing. As can be seen in the image, the bike’s full fairing is home to a shield-shaped headlight, which is a design feature of the latest Suzuki motorcycls. Other than this, the bike remains largely unchanged and shares its fuel tank, tailpiece, exhaust, tires, alloy rims and brakes with the Gixxer. However, another difference that we can spot here is that while the Gixxer gets body-coloured split grab rail arrangement, this motorcycle boasts of a single-piece unit that is painted in silver. Also, in all likelihood, the bike will come with clip-ons.

Specifications
No surprises here! The upcoming motorcycle will share its engine with the Gixxer and hence, will be powered by the same 154.9 cc single-cylinder engine that powers the donor model. However, the very fact that the bike’s full fairing covers almost the entire of the engine makes us believe that the motor would benefit from liquid cooling on this bike. For the Gixxer, this engine pumps out a maximum power of 14.6 bhp @ 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14 Nm @ 6,000 rpm, and comes mated to a slick shifting five-speed manual transmission.
