Upcoming vocalists showcased their talent on the second day of week-long Thyagaraja Aradhanotsav being organised by Sangeeta Sanmandali at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College on Wednesday.

Upcoming vocalists showcased their talent on the second day of week-long Thyagaraja Aradhanotsav being organised by Sangeeta Sanmandali at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College on Wednesday.

The morning session began with N Srivalli performing a veena recital, which was supported by B Durga Srinivas on mridangam. It was followed by a presentation by vocal duo K Bharati and M Rajyalakshmi. Vocalists Ganduri Sai Krishna Koushi, Suri Venkateswarlu, BKR Lakshmi Latha, Malladi Sai Sreelekha, MV Narasimhacharyulu, Ganti Saroja and NCH Butchayacharulu presented captivating concerts which was backed up by instrumentalists.

The evening session commenced with a vocal group concert by Bhagavatula Aparna, S Sitaram and M Datta Pavan. They rendered ‘Manasa Etu’ keerthana in Malayamaruta raga, ‘Chittamu Nirmalamu’ in Dhanyasi raga and `Sree Rama Rama’ in Neelamabri raga. B Sivani on violin and R Bala Dinakar of Rajahmundry on mridangam lent instrumental support to the concert. Duo Mudumbi Rama Sankeerth and Janak Sampeeth began their concert with ‘Nee Chittamu Nirmalamu’ keerthana in Dhanyasi raga. They rendered three more keerthanas. Ganduri Sreenivasa Murthy supported the duo on violin and B Durga Srinivas on mridangam.

Burra Neelakantha Sastry’s vocal recital was well received by the audience as he rendered popular Thyagaraja Swamy keerthanas. He was supported by Sivani on violin and Anjaneya Sastry on mridangam.

Noted veena guru K Sasidhar paid rich tributes to the saint composer by presenting an enchanting recital. Parupalli Subbaraya Phalgun on mridangam and B Kishore on ghatam extended good support to the veena recital. K Udayalakshmi of Visakhapatnam also presented a veena recital with the support of K Sadguru Charan on mridangam.


It was followed by vocal recital by Tulasi Viswanath. P Nandakumar on violin and K Vijayakumar on mridangam supported the concert. Rajahmundry Music College lecturer and noted veena exponent Ayyagari Satya Prasad along with veena artiste Rajya Lakshmi gave a performance at the festival much to the delight of music lovers. K Yogesh supported the duo on mridangam.
