Budding math geniuses test their arithmetic skills
About 500 students in the age group of 7 to 12 from the 13 districts in Andhra Pradesh participated in the Sixth Regional Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition held at Bhavanipuram on Sunday.
About 500 students in the age group of 7 to 12 from the 13 districts in Andhra Pradesh participated in the Sixth Regional Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition held at Bhavanipuram on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, Sociable, Intellectual and Progressive (SIP) Academy of India managing director Dinesh Victor said that the annual competition entered the Limca Book of Records four times.
“The competition is held in 16 categories depending on the age, class and specialisation of participants.The academy is organising the annual competition to develop intellectual thinking among students and to improve their mathematical abilities,” he said.Deputy Commissioner of Police GVG Ashok Kumar, VP Siddhartha Public School principal T Ambareesha Babu, teachers and parents were present.
