Of passion and creativity

Short film making has become a passion for many tech savvy youngsters as it an independent medium to showcase their creativity which fetches them recognition besides spreading a social message. One such enthusiast is Avidi Rajesh, a final year B Tech student from the city.

Rajesh, popular known as ‘Rocking Rajesh’ among his friends, aims to make it big in the filmmaking industry. He has already produced five short films. His talent and creativity has been appreciated by film critics.

Rajesh, who hails from West Godavari district, started producing short films last year. He won a special jury award at a film festival for his film titled ‘A True Warrior’, which depicts the victory of good over bad. He also won the appreciation of film director Sujith of ‘Run Raja Run’ fame, which boosted his confidence, besides inspiring him to produce more short films.

Rajesh’s team consists of Elamadurthi Harish who pens the story and script for his short film, D Vamsee Krishna who edits and his brother Mahesh Babu who is the producer. He chooses his friends and classmates as cast for his short films.

“I am able to produce all the five short films with the good support and encouragement from my family and friends. Though we need to juggle our time between work and studies, we find it interesting and satisfying. I want to pursue what I like the most even after completion of my education,’’ says Rajesh.
