Addressing newsmen on Monday, the APEPDCL Superintending Engineer (SE) Ch Satyanarayana Reddy said that already 15.22 Lakh bulbs have been kept ready for the distribution. He added that in Narsapuram town formally the distribution programme would be conducted on April 23 and on April 24 a programme will be conducted at Jangareddigudem.

“In West Godavari District, there are 7.61 Lakhs domestic power users who will get two LEB bulds worth Rs 800 for Rs 20. The consumer should give two sixty volts or 100 volts ordinary bulbs for getting the LED Bulbs,” he clarified.“Within 40 days the power consumers in the districts will get these bulbs through 153 counters.

The power consumer will save Rs 700-900 per annum with the use of these LED bulbs. Likewise the power consumption of 93.11 million units will be saved to the state,” he added.“The government has taken up the programme in a big way for domestic power consumers in the state. Already the programme was introduced in Guntur, Anantapur, Srikakulam Districts,” said Satyanarayana Reddy.
