An open photography competition on the theme ‘Climate: State of Emergency’ is being conducted by Alliance Française. The aim of the competition this year is to showcase photographs illustrating issues related to climate and its real or perceived evolutions, as well as the induced effects on people’s lives. Their works may also depict public or private solutions which are implemented or imagined in their countries to fight the negative aspects of such evolutions.

The contest will be divided in two parts, first will be a local contest, where an exhibition will be held at Alliance Française showcasing the work of the best 15 photographs (printing and framing by the participants). The top three photographers would be declared as winners. The second 'World Competition' where the winner from Hyderabad will compete with all other local winners from all over the world.

The local contest winner’s photos will be sent to Paris for the Final selection. The grand prize winner of the Final selection in France will win a one week trip to Paris as well as a personal exhibition of his/her work in the French capital. The successful photographs will be published in media outlets specialising in art and photography.

The participation to the contest is free. Participants must be 18 and above, and should not be living on photography as a profession. Participants will need to submit two digital files formatted to TIFF (.tiff) or JPEG (.jpeg) with a resolution of 300 DPI (at least 30x40cm in 3000dpi – 3543×4724 pixels). The pictures should be original and exclusive (no reproduction allowed). For further enquires send an email to [email protected] before May 31.
