After the lukewarm response to setting up heritage clubs in schools, the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) is launching Zilla Khazana in Telangana state in an effort to create awareness among people and also make an inventory.


INTACH Zilla Khazana would be launched by B P Acharya, Principal Secretary Planning, Principal Secretary (FAC), Tourism and Culture at the State Museum today. Zilla Khazana as the name indicates seeks to explore forts, dargahs, churches, temples, sarais, sathrams, ancient trees, caves and monuments. P Anuradha Reddy, co-convenor, INTACH, Telangana State says, “Volunteers are expected to explore hills, ranges and their surroundings in every zilla and send digital photographs along with brief information.


This exercise would help in not only make an inventory but help in bringing in unprotected monuments into the list and also update the system.” A senior official of INTACH Hyderabad chapter appealed to managements of schools, colleges and university to start heritage clubs to support the movement.

Volunteers are expected to send pictures along with its historical importance and other details such as village, mandal, district and mail it to intachzkts@gmail.com,intachtelangana1@gmail.com
