The Telangana Government plans to accommodate many tableaux, each featuring the government’s pet projects, at the Formation Day parade on June 2
After the heartburn caused by the Defence Ministry when it rejected the Telangana Government’s proposal for a tableau to showcase the cultural heritage of Telangana at the Republic Day Parade this year, the government now is leaving no stone unturned in showing off its might with a slew of tableaux on Telangana’s first anniversary of its Formation Day on June 2.
The government directed all the departments to come up with tableaux showcasing its pet projects. From Mission Kakatiya to Haritha Haram programme, respective departments have been given instructions to come up with them. A grand parade and cultural programmes is being planned at the Parade Ground in Secunderabad at the historic Golconda Fort.
Departments have already started outsourcing work to experts. Murali Mohan, public relations officer, Hyderabad Metro Rail, said, “The idea is to showcase a metro station with all its facilities. The tableau would depict all the features such as escalator, the levels at the station and the aesthetics involved.”
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is coming out with the pet project ‘Swachh Telangana-Swachh Hyderabad’, the department of Information and Technology will showcase Wi-fi facility at Hussain Sagar.
The theme for the department of Irrigation is ‘Mana Vooru-Mana Cheruvu’ while the department of Environment, Forest, Science & Technology would display the Haritha Haram programme. A senior official at the tourism department said that the tableau that would catch everyone’s attention would be the flag hoisting done at Golconda Fort.
“The celebrations would be the affirmation of Telangana identity and to showcase the projects undertaken by the government,” he said. The housing department is planning the two-bedroom house as the theme for the tableau.
The civil supplies department is planning to showcase the new policy on public distribution system and supply of ‘Sanna Biyyam’. The minority welfare department would come up with ‘Shaadi Mubarak’ scheme. Respective departments have started work on miniature 3-D models of the tableau and are awaiting approval.
