Striving for a clean city
HMR MD NVS Reddy took part in the ‘Swachh Hyderabad – Swachh Metro’ programme by administering oath to the employees of HMR and L&TMRHL at Punjagutta Metro Station. Dividing about 50 km of Metro corridors where Metro works are going on into 11 stretches of 4 to 5 km each, the employees have undertaken debris clearance, pothole filling, general sprucing up of Metro areas, etc.

Posters on Metro pillars and barricades have been removed at various places by these units. NVS Reddy later went around Punjagutta, Begumpet, Secunderabad, Uppal, Musheerabad, RTC X Roads, Kachiguda X Roads etc., and encouraged the teams participating in the programme.

As mentor for the West Marredpally unit of GHMC, Reddy along with several residents, cleared garbage in Nehru Nagar Park and other places in the vicinity. When problems of water stagnation and accumulation of garbage at some places were brought to his notice by the local residents, he advised GHMC and Water Board officials to attend to the problems immediately.
