Wazzup yo you can be a Superwoman too!

Youtube sensation Lilly Singh aka Superwoman gave her Hyderabadi fans a splendid treat on Saturday at the Satya Sai Nigamagamam Auditorium. The Indo-Canadian vlogger started her world tour, ‘A Trip to Unicorn Island’ from India, a place she has a soft corner for in her heart. Addressing a large crowd, Lilly spoke about her struggles with depression and how she finally came out of it.

“I call myself Superwoman because I truly believe that everyone can be their own superwoman. Five years ago when I was suffering from depression, I used to think that if I were stronger, taller, smarter, or prettier, I wouldn’t have these problems. But I didn’t get out of depression because I got stronger. I got out of depression because I realised that I already was, the whole time,” said Lilly Singh and raised an echoing round of applause and cheers.

She turned this precious advice into a hilarious one when she brought her parents into the show. Her characters of Manjeet and Paramjeet also made an appearance and sent the audience into fits of laughter with their nagging and silly-cool jokes. The name of her world tour, ‘Unicorn Island’ has a history to it. She calls this world her Unicorn Island as a metaphor for a ‘happy place’.

In Hyderabad, the audience got to see things that she had never done before like dancing and even singing (not rapping). All her comic acts fit perfectly well into the theme and it was a perfect balance between comedy, entertainment, joy, as well as some friendly advice to never give up on oneself. She also interacted with some and clicked selfies with some young fans at the venue. Having already performed in Delhi and Mumbai, she is now set for a show in Bengaluru.
