An enchanting concert

City-based musical organisation Swarajhuri conducted a musical concert as its monthly programme at Sivaramakrishna Kshetram on Sunday. Pappu Sadasiva Sastry rendered an impressive vocal recital, which was assisted by Pappu Aparna. The rendition started with Thyagaraja Keerthana “Manasa Etulosthave” in Malayamarutha ragam. The artiste chose keerthanas of different vaggeyakaras in his concert.

Some of the keerthanas rendered by the artistes include “Jaya Jaya Nrisimha” of Annamacharya in Sriragam, “‘Venkatachala nilaya” written by Purandharadas in Sindhubhiravai ragam, Syamasastry keerthana “Karuna chudu” in Sree ragam and the Tarangam composed by Narayana teertha “ Jaya Jaya Vaishnavi” in Arabhi ragam.
