Seven rock bands Paradox Pulse, Axis, Apocalypse, The Upper Basement, Empty Sepulchre, Re-ne-sa and Roots took to the stage to compete for the title. Numerous talented and upcoming bands gave auditions which were held in Hyderabad Central prior to the event of which the finalists were chosen.

The event was judged by producer, director and actor Luke Kenny along with musician and composer Sanjo The balladeer and AV Satish Chandra, who is an important figure in the rock scene in Hyderabad. Talking at the event, Arpit Puri, marketing manager, Hyderabad Central, said, "It is indeed our pleasure to organise Central Battle of Bands, which is committed to supporting music and emerging artists across the country.

Today's event saw a lot of upcoming, young and vibrant musicians at their best on stage. Even though there was only one winner, I am sure these kinds of initiatives will promote the music scene in our country and also inspire youngsters who jam within the four walls of their rooms to come out and showcase their talent.” Empty Sepulchre not only won the title but also a cash prize worth Rs 1 lakh.
