Visualising a dream society. ‘Swapna Ratham’, a Kuchipudi ballet was presented by Vasavya Nritya Vihar of Vasavya Mahila Mandali at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College in the city on Monday.

‘Swapna Ratham’, a Kuchipudi ballet was presented by Vasavya Nritya Vihar of Vasavya Mahila Mandali at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College in the city on Monday. The theme of the ballet was an ideal society which is free from any evils and where people live in peace and harmony.

Visualised by former Indian Medical Association (IMA) national president Dr G Samaram, the theme was a progressive society without any barriers of caste, creed and gender and free from corruption. Eminent Kuchipudi exponent Bhagavatula Venkata Rama Sarma choreographed the ballet blending the traditional and contemporary art.

The script for the ballet was written by S Kumaraswamy while the music was composed by Kumara Suryanarayana. All artistes did a great job in depicting the dream society. Andhra Arts Academy and Sahiti Tapaswi Polavarapu Koteswara Rao Kala Peetham jointly organised the ballet with an objective of promoting social consciousness among people.

MLAs Gadde Ramamohan Rao and Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Krishna Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadde Anuradha, Turlapati Kutumba Rao, Chennupati Vidya, Golla Narayana Rao and others were present.
