The platinum disc function of the forthcoming film Daana Veera Soora (DVS) Karna was held at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College on Wednesday. Sri Sai Jagapathi Pictures and Santosh Productions have together produced the film on epic Mahabharat with child artistes.

It features the fourth generation of legendary actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. NTR, grandson of Harikrishna, acts as Lord Krishna, while his younger brother Soumitri plays dual roles of Kucheludu and Sahadevudu. The cast of the film were felicitated at the function. The child artistes came to the venue at Durgapuram from Srinivasa Mahal in One Town on a decorated chariot arranged by the filmmakers.

Speaking at the felicitation function, veteran journalist Turlapati Kutumba Rao urged the State Government to exempt DVS Karna from entertainment tax to encourage young talent. Industrialist Koganti Satyanarayana lauded the initiative of veteran producer Chalasani Venkateswara Rao in making the film on epic Mahabharat with child artistes providing them an opportunity to showcase their talent.

Venkateswara Rao said he felt proud to be the first producer to make a film with the fourth generation of NTR. All the child artistes excelled in their respective roles, he said, exuding confidence that DVS Karna would be well received by the audience.

Students of Vagdevi Nrityalaya presented a dance concert to mark the occasion. Taraka Rama Rao enthralled the gathering by delivering a few dialogues from the film. Former MLA Yalamanchili Ravi, advocate V Hazarathaiah Gupta, High Court advocate Vara Prasad, playback singer K Ashok Surya and others were present.
