India is a land of diverse cultures, the more we discover the more we are in awe of its beauty. Northeast India is one such part of the Indian subcontinent that houses an enormous amount of beauty. You need not travel to experience the natural beauty, fashion and food from this region.

An online platform giskaa.com has been launched where one can buy products from all the eight North-Eastern states. GISKAA is an acronym formed by taking the first letter of the names of the capitals for each of the eight North-Eastern states: G – Guwahati/Gangtok I – Imphal/Itanagar S – Shillong K – Kohima A – Agartala A – Aizwal.

The portal is also a platform for artisans from the North-East to professionally showcase their products and promote them among a large mainstream Indian audience. Majority of the products are handmade and eco-friendly items around fashion, home décor and office accessories.

Products like kids clothing, fabrics, handmade footwear, baskets, tableware and others are available at a reasonable cost. The online marketplace also includes a range of exciting ethnic food and beverage items from the region including mouth-watering pickles, dried vegetables, herbs and spices.

Meghanath Singh, co-founder and CEO of GISKAA, says, “North-East India remains largely unexplored. It is perhaps the geographical location that isolates it from the rest of the country. As such, many remain unaware of the rich culture and heritage of the region. It was possibly this thought and the want to integrate the North-East into the mainstream Indian culture that led us to come up with a platform for this online store.”
