About 350 people donated blood at a camp organised in the morning to mark the occasion. In the evening, Abhinaya Arts of Guntur staged ‘Rendu Nissabdhala Madhya’ playlet written by Sistla Chandrasekhar. Director N Ravindra Reddy, who also played a key role in the playlet, was felicitated.

Rich tributes were paid to Putta at the programme for his efforts in upholding the Indian culture and heritage. Veteran journalist Turlapati Kutumba Rao, Pilla Lakshmi Prasad, Vemuri Nageswara Sarma, Pilli Lakshmi Tulasi and others lauded his endeavour to promote art and culture. AV Ramana presided.
