“In India, out of 1.2 billion people only 1 million are thinking about entrepreneurship. Here we find many problems but we don’t have any solutions for it. Showcasing problems will not help in finding solutions in India. To fulfill this, one million young. entrepreneurs are working for solutions on caste and gender related issues.

We have forgotten that we were a rich country until 1857. Presently, 50 per cent of Indian GDP is coming from informal sectors. These sectors are providing employment to minority sectors. Most of the young Indians are trapped in old ideas and politics. I urge people to look for solutions instead of highlighting the problems,” said Hindol Sengupta.

Hindol Sengupta is the author of six books including the forth coming ‘Being Hindu’. He lives in Delhi and is currently Editor-at-large at Fortune India. His last book ‘Recasting India: How Entrepreneurship is Revolutionising the World’s Largest Democracy’ was nominated for the Hayek Book Prize, one of the world’s most prestigious non –fiction awards.

He is the only Indian, and the youngest writer ever, to be nominated for the Hayek Prize. The programme was attended by students from Roots Business School and Bhavans College who participated and showcased their interest on entrepreneurship.
