Rahagiri Day, an event that provides citizens with the opportunity to reclaim their streets and connect with their community, completed 25 weeks successfully on Sunday in Hyderabad. The Raahgiri Day was started on January 18.

On the occasion, a Digital 5K Run was organised by the ITE & C Dept, STPI, Cykul, Hyderabad Runners, HYSEA and NASSCOM. Nearly 1,500 people participated in the run which was flagged off by Jayesh Ranjan. Nearly 3,500 people were part of the run.

Speaking on the occasion, Jayesh Ranjan said, “When we introduced Raahgiri, we had every confidence that it will be a huge hit. Now it will spread its wings across the city.” He also unveiled the teaser campaign of Car Free Thursday initiative. Jayesh Ranjan also gave away appreciation certificates to all those behind making Raahgiri a huge success. The good old sack race was back with bang.

Lot of IT folks had a gala time playing the game. Rolling cycle tyres was another street game which drew lot of participation. This was followed by the Grow Green Challenge by the What Club. Jayesh Ranjan started the challenge by planting a sapling. He nominated five more to plant trees. In the next few weeks, Raahgiri plans to organise an exclusive Raahgiri Day for the police and also for twins.
