A group of women from the city having interest in art and crafts have come together to set up Kadambamala, a market place for their unique and exquisite creations. The expo set up in a small portion of a building behind Hotel Fortune Murali Park, was inaugurated by Telugu Desam Party official spokesperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari on Wednesday.

Sarees, colourful cloth bags and a variety of exquisite handmade products were showcased at the expo. The stall of Hyderabad-based small industry Mahi which displayed beautiful dress hangings called tassels made with leftover pieces of cloth and wooden parrots, stole the show.

From organic rice to manure for crops, handmade greetings to gift envelopes, bonsai plants in mosaic planters to paintings and pen stands to craft boxes are available at Kadambamala. Two food counters offering north Indian chat varieties and delicious cupcakes and brownies also came up at the expo.

Organisers Yerneni Padmaja, S Ranjani, P Nalini, D Jayasri and S Krishna said, We have plans to hold Kadambamala once in every two months for the people of the city to visit, appreciate and own something that is unique.’’
