Deelip wins two Radial races. A day after heavy rains, the 30th Laser Sailing Championship-2015 got-off amid good winds ranging from light winds favouring light weighted and novices to gusty and shifting winds that tested the skills of the seasoned sailors at Hussainsagar Lake here on Thursday.

Hyderabad: A day after heavy rains, the 30th Laser Sailing Championship-2015 got-off amid good winds ranging from light winds favouring light weighted and novices to gusty and shifting winds that tested the skills of the seasoned sailors at Hussainsagar Lake here on Thursday.
However, the noon session was restricted to only two races because of light wind conditions. Deelip Kumar from EME Sailing Association, Secunderabad, held on to his own by winning the second and third races in the Radial category.
Later, shuttler Jwala Gutta, had a bat ride and feted the day’s toppers to loud applause from the youngsters
Firs day results:Toppers- Radial: Race No 1: Vir Menon (Royal Madras Yacht Club(RMYC), Chennai); Race No 2: Deelip Kumar (EME Sailing Association, Secunderabad) ; Race No 3. Deelip Kumar; 4.7-Race No 1: Ananya Chauhan (EMESA); Race No 2: Dheer Singh (RMYC, Chennai); Standard-Race No 1: Sharif Khan (Army Yachting Node, Mumbai); Race No 2: Manu Francis (Trishna Sailing Club, Bangalore).
