The makeshift stalls that were put up as part of the festive frenzy were shut down to make space for people. As Quran verses were playing over the megaphones that were set up everywhere, carpets and paper sheets were being rolled on the roads as men got ready for their namaz.

The namaz that began from Mecca Masjid at 1:15 pm was a spectacular view with thousands of men praying in unison. The last Friday of this festive month holds a cultural significance as it is believed to be the day on which Muslim men are required to attend congregation during the mid-day prayer to bid goodbye to the month.
