Don’t be influenced by politics: IAS topper Ira

Honestly I don’t consider my achievement a success. For me success would be on the day when I can actually bring in the changes through my work, said IAS topper Ira Singhal who was felicitated at the Osmania University Arts College on Tuesday.

The IAS 2014 topper, the first differently abled to do so, was felicitated by Kodad MLA Uttam Padmavathi Reddy. Speaking at the event Ira said, “Corruption is eating our society in every walk of life. So I request you all to do your duty well.

As a student and in the future when you start working, you need to do justice to your job. Don’t get influenced by politics, be it caste based or community based. Be good citizen firsts.” Advicing students, Ira added, “My purpose is to be a part of development.

All of you who are planning to join the government, you won’t be ensured of success immediately. Success will be ensured only when actually help people who are in need of it.” Ending the speech on a lighter note, the topper said, “When you have an enemy, tell them to appear for the Civils exam. That’s the best revenge ever. I am so relieved that I never have to give the exam again.”
