The Lakme Fashion Week has completed 15 years of fashion in the country. Commemorating the occasion, designers Neeta Lulla, Anand Kabra, Anushree Reddy, Gaurang Shah and Divya Reddy previewed their upcoming winter/festive 2015 collection in the city.

The featured designs were attractive, elegant and chic. Talking about his latest collection, designer Gaurang Shah says, “My collection is about Samyuktha, which means strong women and I have a lot of red shades and beads. My model is wearing a kanjivaram organsa Anarkali which represents our culture.”

Keeping gen-x in mind, the designs feature ethnic wear with a western touch. “This season I have given a new look and style to my designs. It’s a mixture of different themes. As the young generation have become more fashion conscious and loves to look unique. My collection includes Kanjivaram, phulkari and many more,” says fashion designer Neeta Lulla.

The winter festive collection is a combination of dark and light colours. Designer Anushree says, “My new collection is ‘OSS at Sunset’. It’s an Indian collection, but a combination of two different worlds. I got inspired by the vintage era and worked on my collection. I have used pastel shades which gives a light and elegant look.

I have used different fabrics like chiffon, organza and works like zardosi and sequins. It is easy and fun to wear festive collection.”Actress Raashi Khanna who draped one of designer Anushree’s collection says, “The saree I draped is a blend with a new vintage fused modern look with pastel colour and zardosi work.

I feel like a princess wearing her collection.” This was just the glimpse of the Lakme Fashion Week, as very soon these designers are going to showcase their winter/festive collections in August.
