For nearly two decades, fans of football manager have been managing clubs and are achieving success with them.
For nearly two decades, fans of football manager have been managing clubs and are achieving success with them. The game that offered many football fans the simulation experience of what it is like to step into the shoes of the manager of the football club, this time around is giving them a chance to create a club from scratch and develop it for the years to come. Overcoming the disappointment of the previous edition, Football Manager 2016, which is released worldwide on November 16 has arrived with a bang.
The best football simulation game is back with a bang. This edition – Football Manager 2016 has all the makings that will make the fans forget the previous edition, which was a disappointment. There are plenty of new things to explore and the question remains can you explore them all
The makers at Sports Interactive have come up with their usual box of changes tweaking more or less every aspect of the game play. This time they have shunned the retro look (football manager 2015), which drew considerable criticism in favour of modernity. The game has more user – friendly look to it than its previous editions. However, in this edition the tactical set up of the football match has been revamped.
The game makers have tied up with Prozone, which helped them to prepare more realistic tactical analysis, which is seen in modern game of football. However, the tactical analysis helps the gamers, who love to indulge in the nitty-gritties of the game, while for those who play to see their wildest fantasies come alive; the tactical analysis goes above the plane.
Much loved cloud save is still intact and a gamer can save his dream team on cloud and play on any computer with a decent internet connection. Considerable efforts were made to make the simulations flow seamlessly and the makers were successful to a large accent. The game play, transitions, tactical screen, scouting etc, flow smoothly creating an unparalleled virtual reality / simulation experience.
This time around not only the gamers can take his club from the bottom of the league and do wonders with it, they can create a club too. This edition of the game introduced creating club for the first time, where in one can create the club, its logo, jerseys and the whole shebang. While this excites the gamers, it takes painfully long to create a club from scratch, but you can’t complain about wasting time. Can you? Football manager fanatics have logged in more hours playing than at their work place and prospect of creating a club gives them a reason to burn more midnight oil.
As the game is all about simulating the experience as a manager of football club, match engine always takes a back seat. Though, graphics were better than the last edition, it is nowhere close to photo reality. And under this circumstances, the introduction of creating your avatar as manager, another new introduction in this edition has provided unintentional comic relief. The avatars are so good that you won’t regret skipping creating one.
In a nut shell, the makers have pulled out all stops in producing the better version than the previous edition. As it has been happening from the nearly two decades, the simulation game is evolving and is incorporating realistic scenarios. No doubt the game, which is priced at Rs 1,600 has all the making to satisfy the fantasy of a football fanatic, to manage a club, buy players, outwit other teams and lead the club to pinnacles of success.
But, it feels you are invited to a lunch, where there is huge spread, you will definitely savour what has been offered but at the same time will be disappointed that you have tasted (tested) the entire spread. (The review is based on the beta edition of the game which was released three weeks ago)
