City police have made stringent security arrangements for the safety and security of the people on the occasion of Republic Day function at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad, on January 26. Besides 1,000 policemen, services of Rapid Action Force consisting of 120 members would also be utilised for security purpose, a police officer said.

Besides 1,000 policemen, services of Rapid Action Force consisting of 120 members would also be utilised for security purpose, a police officer said.

“We are organising the vehicle checkings very frequently every day at different places randomly and keeping close watch on the activities of criminal and anti-social elements in the city. Police urged public who are coming to the Parade Grounds should not bring prohibited materials like match boxes, cigar lighters, water bottles, black flags, black ribbons, black cloth, play cards, sticks and other objectionable material which are being used for exhibiting protest, N. Prakash Reddy, DCP North Zone said.

The public should follow guidelines of the traffic police and reach the Parade Grounds in advance by 9:00 am on January 26. The public must bring the passes which were issued to them and also they should enter through their allotted gates only. The pass-holders of AA cars should alight at main gate and their vehicles should be parked under SBH flyover, near main gate.

The pass-holders of A1 cars should be alighted at A1 gate and their vehicles should be parked under SBH flyover near GHMC swimming pool. The pass-holders of B1 cars should be alighted at B-1 gate and their vehicles should be parked in the grounds of office of Chief Engineer, Ordinance Factory.

The pass-holders of A2 cars should be alighted at Gymkhana Ground and should park their vehicles there and should come by walk upto A2 gate and enter into their sitting place. The pass-holders of B2 cars should alight at office of Chief Engineer Ordinance Factory, and their vehicle should be parked there itself and they should come by walk up to B2 gate and enter into their sitting place.

General public who come from western gate should park their vehicles at Tivoli Lane and come to western gate by walk and should enter the general public area. The general public and school children who will come from eastern gate should park their vehicles at circus ground or Centenary School grounds and come to eastern gate by walk and should enter the general public area.
