Roots Health Foundation, a city-based service organisation has organised a two-wheeler rally to create awareness regarding cancer and its prevention. Mayor Koneru Sreedhar flagged off the rally from NTR Circle on Mahatma Gandhi Road, which passed till Ashok Nagar and culminated at Roots Hospices Center.

Speaking on the occasion, Roots Health Foundation Dr Y Bhavan Chand said that Cancer is curable if detected in early stages. People should approach a doctor immediately when they find lumps in any part of the body. He said that concrete and joint efforts in diagnosing cancer would enable doctors to provide best treatment and cure the patients.

Modern equipent can help cure cancer. He also appealed people to avoid having fast and junk food and to lead a healthy and disease-free life. Besides that, he also appealed to them to keep the surroundings and environments clean.

Pamphlets highlighting the ill effects of cancer and precautionary measures essential to prevent it were distributed. Krishna District Anti-Corruption Bureau, DSP, V Gopla Krishna, Chief of Medical Officer of VMC Dr M Gopi Naik , corporator Chennupati Gandhi, Traffic ACP Sravan Kumar and others were also present on the occasion.
