Exclusive bovine breeding centre coming to Hyderabad
The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) is setting up an exclusive centre for ‘Advancement of Bovine Breeding’ in the city, which will work for applied research and training in bovine breeding.

After attending the Bhoomi Pujan on Wednesday, Dilip Rath, Chairman, NDDB said that with focused efforts on providing quality breeding and enabling producers to improve the productivity of their animals, it is possible to reduce the cost of production and enhance the incomes of milk producers.
The R&D centre will have integrated facilities of laboratory, animal sheds and training centre at the NDDB Campus in the city. The centre will take advanced activities like Embryo Transfer (ET) and Ovum Pick-Up and In-Vitro Fertilisation (OPU-IVF) for faster multiplication of elite germplasm, genomic selection related research for early selection of bulls and bull mothers and testing for genetic diseases.
The developmental activates are focused on making dairying more productive and profitable.
