Hyderabad: The job market in India is at a stage currently where the problem is not that of unemployment but that of being employment ready. Corporates in India are seen complaining about the huge skills gap in today’s youth. Moreover, this skills gap is more among underprivileged women. Hence, today, skill development has become an important need for the country.
According to a recent survey conducted by Rin in association with Hansa Research Group Pvt Ltd, a global market research agency, it was found that 88 per cent mothers in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu wanted to prepare their children for a bright career but currently didn’t know how to do it.
Interestingly, a majority i.e. 92 per cent mothers agreed that soft skills along with educational qualifications were extremely or very important for their children’s career. Understanding this need, Rin will be re-launching its Career Ready Academy to inspire, educate and equip the youth in three critical corporate skills of English speaking, Office Dressing and Interview training.
Rin Career Ready Academy will be re-launching in October. According to a report authored by Abusaleh Shariff of the Centre for Research and Debates in Development Policy, New Delhi and Amit Sharma, research analyst with the National Council for Applied Economic Research, those who speak English fluently earn up to 34 per cent more than those who don't speak the language, confirming the link between knowledge of English Language and income potential.
To make accessibility easy Rin has made mobile as one of the key mediums to deliver the course to the participants. The participants can take the course by simply giving a missed call on the toll free number 1800-267-1001 and then answering a few questions to register.
Through the mobile, the brand will be able reach out to those parts of the state which were otherwise not feasible to reach through physical brick and mortar infrastructure. Moreover, mobile also offers users the convenience to take the course anytime and anywhere, learn at a comfortable pace and requires no monetary or logistical outlay on the part of the consumer.
The quality and rigor of the program have been ensured. The custom made content in partnership with eAge Tutors has about 400 minutes of content, a mix of IVR and Tele-Conferencing where the students get a chance to speak to a teacher real-time, ensuring an enhanced consumer experience. The course can also be taken online on www.rin.in.
Speaking about the platform, Vipul Mathur, Category Head Core Laundry, Hindustan Unilever Limited said, “Rin as a brand has always believed that everyone is talented and more often than not it is lack of opportunity or prejudices of others that stand in the way.
Rin Career Ready Academy stems from the inherent belief that enabling the youth to acquire relevant livelihood skills can make a huge impact on the lives of deserving people who lack them, allowing them to fully express their talent and increase their income potential. This should help the youth not just to improve their own lives but also enrich the lives of those around them.”
