Words of wisdom that came in full flow from VVS Laxman, in his capacity as the brand ambassador of Project 511 that is all set to host its annual feature ‘Food for Change’, a black-tie charity dinner as part of Daan Utsav in the city on October 9.

Speaking at an interaction with the media on Wednesday, the former cricketer said he was drawn to the group that comprises of the who’s who for the qualitative meaning they were bringing to families, whose children were studying in government schools.

He said he was overjoyed and felt motivated on a particularl occasion when he interacted with children from the Government School in Lingampally.

He said they were full of enthusiasm and had drawn ambitions of having a good future. Education was paramount and no student should be deprived of this life-transforming facet, he contended.

Srinivasan Namala, Chairman of Project 511 said that it was the coming together of likeminded people drawn from across various fields. As part of its celebration, it was their commitment to ensure that children from have-not families get their fair share of education.

In this direction they were organising “Food for Change”, a black-tie charity dinner as part of Daan Utsav at JRC Conventions on October 9. The proceeds will go towards the efficacious work done by Project 511.

Film producer and founding-member of the Project, Suresh Babu, said that they were presently covering 1022 government schools, which translated to 69 percent of those in Hyderabad district and 19 percent of those situated in Ranga Reddy.

Irrespective of whether they pertained to distribution of blackboards, books, providing toilets, science labs or classrooms, each member of the group was sworn to an uncompromising passion for delivering high-quality value to the students and ambience that boost their learning experience, he averred.

Atin Gupta, Chairman of Hyderabad Round Table 8 stated that they felt overwhelmed when student-beneficiaries show a marked improved in their approach to life, which was the precise endeavour of Project 511.

Chandrashekaran from Daan Utsav pointed out that the name was rechristened from the original Joy of Giving a few years back, He said the ensuing Food for Change marked the culmination of the Joy of Giving week that is held every year from October 2 to 8.
