Tollywood singer Parnika Manya unveiled her first solo video ‘Ayigiri Nandini- Power of Women’ on her YouTube channel on Friday celebrating the Navarathri festival.
Parnika Manya has worked for more than 50 films over the past four years as a singer. Presently she is working for Bahubali Two.
The singer has been in the city which she considers as a home after home, for a special performance at Amaravati shopping festival being organised by Department of Tourism.
“I’ve always had a strong desire to establish myself as a film singer right from my childhood and my family stood beside me all along.
Apart from being a playback singer I also wanted to bring a video song and at last my dream came true now with Ayigiri nandini. The only one behind my success is my mother, she is my best guide and teacher,” Parnika says.
Right from her childhood Parnika Maanya is a theist and an ardent devotee of the deity at Kanaka Durga temple, in particular. By picking up the most popular sloka of the goddess, Ayigiri nandini, she has breathed the power of women into YouTube.
“I had a brief discussion with singers Geetha Madhuri, actor Nandu and my husband Nikhil. Although we planned to remix the traditional number, we were skeptical about the controversies associated and that too with a Rap number.
Yet my husband and family encouraged me to accomplish the task which finally boosted my confidence. Giving a rap touch to the classical feat is what I have been dreaming of all these days. It is a unique experiment which no one else ventured into.
Though I decided to include women and their life roles in the song, I didn’t want to monger on their sorrows and sufferings with a sympathetic note. I wanted my song to be with high voltage energy and inspiring and taking it on Rap is a good choice what I have made.”
Parnika also said that she wanted to collaborate with Noel for the clip as he is the best Rapper available in Hyderabad. The things took a new turn when he suggested to go for a solo performance as there has been no video that a female rapping in the history of Telugu industry.
“The close friends of mine Nandu, Geetha, Noel and others have done exceptionally well and gave me a very huge support and they all stood by me for the complete making. I am very happy that my husband Nikil produced this video. I liked the set Natraj master had in the background for his show.
So I asked if he could give us for a day or two and he agreed. Actor Nandu passionately planned the screenplay and story board for the video which was shot at Sarathi studio. From the sets to music, everything was ready,” a beaming Parnika said.
“I am on cloud nine after getting a huge response from the industry and truly happy for enjoying the success in city. I have many friends including singer Sri Krishna and many a repertoire of memories revolving around the city which I will cherish all through my life,” she concluded.
