Warangal: The Warangal District Petroleum Dealers’ Association has demanded the Union Petroleum Ministry to increase in dealer margin in the sales of petroleum products.

The association wanted the petroleum ministry to consider the recommendations made by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas official Apurva Chandra, who chaired a committee to look into the demands of the retail outlet (RO) dealers of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).

The Centre was yet to act on the committee report submitted to the ministry in 2010, the association president G Bhoopal Reddy complained here on Tuesday. Similarly many demands such as implementation of unified transport cost system and generating automated invoice were pending for long.

He also objected the practice of forcing the ROs to sell engine oil at their outlets. In support of their demand, the association as part of a nation-wide agitation has planned to stage ‘lights off-sales off’’ protest on Wednesday from 7 pm to 7.15 pm.

Similarly the dealers would stall purchase of petrol and diesel on November 3. If the government fails to address the issues, the dealers would fully stop purchasing the petroleum products from the OMCs and selling to consumers from Nov 15 onwards, besides staging different protests, Bhoopal Reddy informed.

The association during its general body meeting held on Monday has decided to appoint three conveners for each of the newly formed districts. The existing district body would continue to act as zonal body, he said.

For Mahabubabad district Raj Kumar, Ashok Goud and Srinivas were appointed as conveners. For Jayashanker Bhupalpalli Mohan Reddy, Ravinder Rao and Malla Reddy; for Jangaon Mukund Reddy, Anjaiah, Srikanth Reddy and for Warangal Rural V Srinivas, Balu Naik and Krishna Murthy were made conveners.

The association general secretary G Shai Reddy, treasurer A Avaninder Reddy, honorary president G Premender Reddy and others were present.
