Mancherial: The third phase of farm loan waiver would be completed within a month. Assembly Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy gave the assurance while interacting with press persons on the sidelines of a private function here on Wednesday.

She asserted that the government has been taking steps, like supplying seeds and loan waiver, to provide relief to farmers in all respects. The government, which the Speaker claimed was implementing several welfare measures for the people, was not answerable to the Opposition. ‘But it is accountable to farmers’.

The Deputy Speaker criticised the Opposition for seeking to create an ‘unnecessary row’ over the Mallanna Sagar project and blocking development, when the government wanted to benefit farmers. She claimed that it was in the process of finalising several schemes for the development of the State.

Padma Devender Reddy expressed happiness over Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao constituting the BC commission with the objective of extending benefits to all sections of BCs. She claimed that the other states were taking Telangana as a model for its development schemes.

She asserted that there would be no water shortage in the State with the implementation of the Mission Bhagiratha, which was intended to provide drinking water to all interior areas by the end of December in 2017.

Later, the Deputy Speaker planted saplings in Bokkalagutta in Mandamarri mandal. Government Whips Sunita and Nallala Odelu, MLC Satish, MLAs Diwakar Rao, Chinnayya, Mandal Parishad president Satyanarayana, ZPTC Ashalata, Municipal Chairperson Vasundhara and others were present on the occasion.
