Such patients need emergency services, she added. Participating in the MMR audit meeting with DMHO, doctors, ICDS supervisors, community development project officers at the Collectorate here on Friday, she reviewed the medical services being offered to the pregnant women.

She also told the doctors to prepare a comprehensive report spelling out the reasons why expectant women died during deliveries.

The District Collector also told the doctors and hospital superintendents to prepare a check list and paste it in all the maternity wards after the expectant mothers deliver babies.

All the arrangements for deliveries should be made for the smooth and normal deliveries of babies, she added.

Collector Rana said if any expectant mother faces a crisis during the delivery time, the anganwadi workers and ANMs should immediately inform the doctors concerned and rescue their lives and ensure smooth deliveries.

She said that In some cases, doctors should also go the homes of expectant mothers and provide medical treatment. Then, the faith of the people in government hospitals would increase, she added.

The District Collector directed Dr Balamuralikrishna to prepare a report on the death of Dubbaka Pavani’s husband, hailing from Sirnapallli village of Darpalli mandal while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

She said that one Murali, husband of S Lalitha also died due to negligence of the doctors. Show-cause notices should be issued to Dr Anjana, CDPO Jhansi, supervisor Usha Rani and ANM Srilatha, she added.

She told the DHMO Dr Venkat and hospital Superintendent Dr Rammohan Rao to take necessary action in this regard and submit a report.

She said that pregnant women were dying in government hospitals only due to the negligence of doctors and this must be rectified.
