Speaking to press persons on the occasion, they demanded that the the officials should immediately take up remedial measures ensuring a healthy environment at the School.

None of the officials and legislators have cared to look at the School swamped by Krishnaswamy kunta backwaters and drainage waters in the town.

It was sad that the KGBV was standing in waters since two months causing much trouble to the students as well as the staff.

The students were facing a serious health threat as the water stagnation at the School has become a breeding centre for mosquitoes, complained Ekambaram and others.

Local CPI leader B Ajay Sarathi extended solidarity to the protesting AISF activists and demanded urgent measures to be taken up to clear the pool of water at the School and to lay an asphalt road connecting the School.

Intensive agitations would be staged until the authorities respond to the situation at the School, they warned.
