Ajay Shukla's "Taj Mahal Ka Tender", a hilarious Hindi play opened the Samahaara Theatre Festival 2016 to a full house at the Green Gables International School, Madhapur on November 5.

Directed by Rathna Shekar Reddy the play had 15 actors who performed the play with impeccable comic timing keeping the audience entertained for more than an hour.

26th Nov - "Acharya Tartuffe" A hilarious adaptation of Moliere's Le Tartuffe (Hindi)
03rd Dec - Anjali Parvati Koda's "Karna" (English)
10th Dec - An adaptation of Regiland Rose's "12 Angry Men" (English)
17th Dec - "Last Wish Baby" A hilarious adaptation of William Seebring's "The original last wish baby" (Multilingual)
24th Dec - "Bhagat Singh & Gandhi". A play devised by Rathna Shekar (English)
Venue: Green Gables International School, Ayyappa Society, Madhapur, Hyderabad.

The play bravely takes on a situation where Emperor Shah Jahan is living in contemporary India. He decides to build Taj Mahal in the memory of his beloved Mumtaz Mahal.

The succeeding chain of events takes the Emperor through all the red-tape and bureaucratic hurdles possible within the political machinery.

Would he succeed in building this monument? What happens to his dream project - forms the crux of the play.

Anurag Sharma played the role of Shahjahan to perfection, while Nilachal Majhi plays the character of Chief Engineer Guptaji with ease.
