“As though Konda Viveka is a relative to me, I am inspired by her great deeds. Many great leaders struggled for Independence of India, in the same manner she fought for blind. She must be named as blind Gandhi or Helen Keller of Asia,” said Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, MP.

“She fought courageously against social discriminations. Her stories will inspire a lot of people. A film must be made on her life story,” he added.

Viveka is recognised for the revolution she started for the blind in 1978 for providing better amenities to them and the overall amelioration of the lot. Viveka started the first Blind School for Ladies in Saidabad.

She worked in ten districts and brought nearly hundred visually handicapped boys and girls to join schools. She went to great lengths to enlighten the public about the abilities and talents of visually impaired in the society, so that they are accepted as equals and are provided with employment opportunities to lead a decent life.
