​Warangal: The authorities of Warangal Central Prison had another jolt on Wednesday as a prisoner has allegedly attempted suicide. The prisoner shared the barrack with two prisoners, who recently escaped from the jail.

The prisoner, Rajashekar from Bihar has reportedly consumed large quantity of Paracetamol tablets. The jail authorities rushed him to MGM Hospital in the city and was said to be out of danger.

Rajashekar has been lodged in the same barrack in which the escaped prisoners - Sainik Singh and Rajesh Yadav - were lodged.

According to the sources, they together have allegedly hatched the escape plan but Rajashekar has dropped the idea on some unknown pretext.

Sainik Singh, who was arrested by the police at Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam in AP recently, has reportedly revealed the details of their escape plan during police interrogation.

Following which Rajashekar was said to be panicked over possible police harassment in view of his role in the escape of the two prisoners.

As result he attempted the suicide, the sources added. The doctors at MGM Hospital on the condition of anonymity said the prisoner was brought to the hospital following overdose of medicine while the jail officials refused to comment on the incident.

Meanwhile, as an act of punishment the prison superintendent K Newton was attached to police headquarters in Hyderabad.

He was replaced by an official M Sampath from Mahabubnagar prison. It was learnt that jail wardens and others at the central prison would also face punishment soon.
