The Collector inaugurated a sports event, connected with World Differently Abled Sports Celebrations Day on December 3, at the local high school here on Wednesday.
He asserted that the government had taken several steps to ensure their welfare and success in different fields.
Speaking on the occasion, DCP John Wesley said that the police department would always extend support to the differently abled and would stand by them.
District Rural Development Officer Durgam Venkat said that creation of Self-Help Groups through IKP was a means of striving for the development of the differently abled.
District Welfare Officer Ravoof Khan, deputy education officer Chary, Lions Club president Srinivas and others participated in the programme.
